Just when you think it can’t get any worse, it does. Evil manifested itself beyond description today in Connecticut.
Only demented people who commit such horrific crimes are responsible, no one else. Christ tells us that; “the evil person out of his evil treasure [of their heart] brings forth evil (Matthew 12:35).”
As Jonathan Cahn writes: “America was the most blessed nation on earth, its blessings shielded by a powerful hedge of national protection. As its founders had foretold, if the nation followed the ways of God, it would be blessed not only with prosperity and power but also with peace and security.” (1)
Cahn says the hedge has been lifted because; “We drove Him out of our schools, out of our government, out of our media, out of our culture, out of our public square. We drove Him out of our national life, and then we ask, “Where is God?” (2)
Well, He’s right here, waiting for us to return. He hasn’t left us, we’ve left Him. The comforting thing is He invites us to “Seek the LORD while He may be found; [to] call upon Him while He is near; [and] let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the LORD, that he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon (Isaiah 55:6-7).”
Let’s put blame and politics aside for now, and use the time to return to the Lord, for only in Him can our nation really be secure. As Moses reminds us; “The eternal God is [your] refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms (Deuteronomy 33:27).”
While we’re at it, this is a good time to pray that God would touch the hearts of our President, Congress, the Court and all areas of government, that they might sense their need for God and be drawn to Him (1 Timothy 2:1-6).

With very heavy heart, my prayers seek God for comfort and His everlasting love for the parents who lost their little ones in an unforgivable act today. “Lord, please spread the meaning of II Chronicles 7:14 upon our land and open the hearts of the heardened that they may hear your call and seek your face.”
