Some years ago a friend predicted both political parties would one day merge into one, ultimately crushing our representative form of government. Seems his prediction may be coming true, as it is becoming increasingly difficult to tell the difference between a Democrat and a RINO (Republican In Name Only).
The bi-partisan budget deal just passed, which increases spending and cuts benefits to military veterans, attests to his wisdom. Before I proceed, let me reiterate that the language to cut pension benefits was conceived in the Republican dominated House. It wasn’t slipped in at the last-minute, as some would like us to believe. (1)
A few years before the war the Tea Act was passed forcing Americans to buy tea from only one company, the East India Tea Company. Sounds a lot like the health care law, doesn’t it?
This law is no different from the Tea Act and should be repealed immediately, because it resulted in millions losing health care coverage they were happy with. Next, it compels us under the guise of law, to buy or sell something we would not normally do.
When people try to justify the health care law as being “the law of the land” remember the Constitution is, and that the Supreme Court has a track record for making horrendous and unconstitutional decisions:
Dred Scot (Which ruled blacks were property, not people)
The Fugitive Slave Act
Plessy vs Ferguson (1896), where the court ruled segregation on the basis of race was Constitutional.
Korematsu Decision(1944), that put Jap Americans in internment camps regardless of their citizenship.(2)
In 1773 the town of Marlborough, Massachusetts ushered in the new year with this proclamation; “Death is more eligible than slavery. A freeborn people are not required by the religion of Jesus Christ to submit to tyranny, but may make use of such power as God has given them to recover and support their laws and liberties… we implore the Ruler above the skies, that He would make bare His arm in defense of His church and people, and let Israel go.” (3)
Someone referred to America as the “Regulation Nation“, because government continually sticks its nose into every area of our lives imposing regulations on health care, football, guns, industry, free speech and religious liberty.
The most egregious assault is coming against Christianity. However, there is no war on Christianity or Christmas per se, but on Jesus Christ Himself.
Pastor Bill Wilson’s concluded 2013 with this editorial; “As we close out the year, I was thinking about the power of Christianity in America. I have been chief among the critics that the pulpit is too milk toast, teaching an extra-biblical, self-indulgent, and emotional doctrine that is far from the meaning of the gospel. Many Christians seem too self interested to engage beyond their four walls. Christians have been taught a watered down version of the gospel for so long that they do not know how to stand for righteousness or even what the Bible really says about how to behave in society and show the light of Christ.” (4)
Our marching orders from scripture are these; “For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will also be ashamed of him when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels” (Mark 8:38).
Think about that as we enter a new year. More on this later….

My prayer for our nation and leaders corresponds to your commentary. Christians too long have stood silently by as Satan has infused those without a Christian conscience (and even those with such a conscience) with his wily tricks and words on us. It is time for the silent majority to be silent no longer. Arise and take the sword (God’s Word and blessing) and begin a march across our country.

It goes beyond even Pastor Bill Wilson, Christians job is to shape the culture, not react to it, we need to start with our Churches.
