So all the peoples of the earth shall see that you are called by the name of the Lord; and they shall be afraid of you. Deuteronomy 28:10
God put a hedge around Job so impenetrable the enemy took note (Job 1:10).
That “Unseen Hand” also protects nations, but only when they do things His way.
God temporarily removed Job’s for a much higher purpose, but in the case of nations they forfeit His protection when they violate His statutes.
On April 30, 1789 George Washington was sworn in as the first President of the United States at Federal Hall in New York City – around the same spot where we got hit in 2001.
While taking the oath, Washington put his hand on the Bible opened to Deuteronomy 28 that promises “blessings or curses on a nation according to its faithfulness to keep God’s Word.” (1)
Here are some of the conditions for blessing and protection found in Deuteronomy 28:
v. 1 – If you will diligently obey the LORD your God…the LORD your God will set you high above all nations of the earth.
v.2 – All these blessing shall come upon you and overtake you if you will obey the LORD your God.
v. 9 – The LORD will establish you as a holy people to Himself...if you will keep the commandments of the LORD your God.
If they obeyed “God promised to bless every area of their lives (v. 2-6), including their political ventures (vv. 7, 13), agriculture (vv. 8, 11-12) and their witness” to the other countries (vv. 9-10). (2)
In his Inaugural Address Washington’s pointed out; “we ought to be no less persuaded that the propitious smiles of Heaven can never be expected on a nation that disregards the eternal rules of order and right which Heaven itself has ordained…”
Those “eternal rules” are found in Deuteronomy 28 where the majority of the chapter (vv. 14-68), deals with the curses for violating those commands. Some of them are pretty scary, but God put them in there to remind us that people have the capacity within them to turn to the “Dark Side.”
And when they do, bad things always happen.
After Washington finished his speech, they strolled down to St. Paul’s Chapel for a prayer meeting, setting the tone on how America’s leaders would govern the nation.
So, are you going to believe men like Washington or schnook’s like Anthony Kennedy and John Roberts?
Interesting how that tiny little church was still standing after everything around it crumbled.
Read the speeches of our prominent people throughout our history, your Declaration and Constitution. Get a good history book that gives you the complete picture, good and bad, of our nation from our founding to the present.
Next, research the reasons behind why Jefferson listed those specific grievances in the Declaration that caused our Founders to separate.
Don’t take my word on things, read for yourself and then you won’t be led astray by the frauds currently holding office.
