“And there arose another generation after them who did not know the LORD, nor yet the work which He had done for Israel.” Judges 2:10

The three debates, one of which was between the VP candidates, generated a flurry of activity on social networking sites.

Like the recent one between Obama and Romney, one could feel the tension when reading a number of the posts.

Even though the president’s “forced” defense of his poor record (especially on Libya) disintegrated before the nation, I found it astonishing that two people who are acquaintances of my family and who have come from fine Christian homes, are voting for Obama. One thought Candy Crowley did such a superb job, one of her posts called for her to be our next president. What universe do these people live in?

The problem, as in the days of the Judges, is that previous generations failed to do a good job instilling our Christian heritage and the truths of scripture into these kids. I’m sure more of them are out there, too.

The fault doesn’t lie with the church or pastors, but at home. Perhaps, their parents did teach them and it just didn’t take root (Matthew 13:3-4,19).

This would be sad, if it wasn’t so frightening.

If I were involved in a street fight I’d want Joe Biden on my side, because he knows how to fight dirty.

Street thugs will ‘sucker punch’ their opponent to gain the advantage, and while they’re on the ground they will continue their beat down as they attempt to recover. Read the rest of this entry »

Instead of watching a vice-presidential debate last night, what we witnessed was a “bum rush” on Paul Ryan perpetrated by moderator Martha Raddatz and Vice President Joe Biden. Were you surprised? Read the rest of this entry »

Recently, the pastor of my church sent out an email encouraging his congregation to vote “God’s principles” in the upcoming election. Great advice that I’d like to expand upon. Read the rest of this entry »

As the election approaches, I want to bring to your attention some things to consider before you go into the voting booth. John Jay, the first Chief Justice of the Supreme Court declared that Americans should select Christian’s for political office.

Many of you, if not you, then your family and friends for sure, didn’t do this. Instead, a sizeable number put a man in office we knew nothing about. Read the rest of this entry »

I was listening to a talk show out of California where the host asked listeners if they would stay or leave due to the state’s fiscal problems. The majority said they would go because, to quote one caller, they have ‘no voice” at the federal or state level. How sad.
