Suppose you were about to graduate from one of our military academies and heard President Obama say this at your commencement:
“Before you arrived here our nation was engaged in two wars, al Qaeda’s leadership was entrenched in their safe havens, many of our alliances were strained, and our nation’s standing in the world had suffered. And now over the past four years, we’ve strengthened our alliances and restored America’s image in the world.” (1)
Then at a Memorial Day service last May he said: “For the first time, Americans were no longer fighting and dying in Iraq. And this time next year, we will mark the final Memorial Day of our war in Afghanistan.” (2)
What he was saying was that things were a mess before he arrived and that his predecessor was responsible for sending thousands of men to their deaths. How would you feel hearing this if you were about to lead young soldiers into war?
Obama can’t help inserting himself into every issue and did it again last Friday in the Trayvon Martin – George Zimmerman circus.
He made race the central issue before and after the trial. However, legal pundits who ‘read between the lines’ concluded he was telling his base there would be no further prosecution.
Given O’s credibility on things this could change, but for the most part many believe its over with. Besides, if they prosecuted Zimmerman it would violate his 5th Amendment right against double-jeopardy.
Don’t be swayed by the various legal arguments and opinions you’ll hear, READ THE AMENDMENT! If Zimmerman were tried under federal law, he’d be tried for the same offense twice, something the 5th Amendment prohibits. It’s that simple.
Scripture tells us ‘to speak truth’ with our neighbors (Ephesians 4:25), but this isn’t happening in Washington today and certainly not on Barry’s watch. Our politicians rarely tell us things in a plain, straight-forward manner – there always has to be an underlying message (Matthew 5:37).
I believe Obama’s press conference was conceived to divert our attention away from Benghazi and the IRS scandals. If case you haven’t heard, new evidence has emerged casting the administration in, yet again, a very unfavorable light. The media deliberately turned their heads and reported on a non-story instead.
If the Obama administration elects not to prosecute Zimmerman it’s not because of any profound reverence they hold for individual liberties or the 5th Amendment. It’s because they don’t have an ‘airtight’ case. If they did, they’d start the proceedings immediately. For some prosecutor’s, it’s all about the win and loss column.
Barry is looking to identify with ‘the brothers and sisters in the hood’ hoping his words will give him credibility – and with many it did. But, if he can use this to drive another wedge between the races and inflame passions (like challenging “stand your ground laws”), he will.
However, because of his privileged lifestyle, we know that Obama can’t identify with poor blacks anymore than we could be called disciples of al-Qaeda.

Whenever I hear Obama speak, I know it is just lies and political posturing. He continues to be totally naive about governing, the Constitution and America’s ideals. He is so far under water in his knowledge and wisdom of being President, he must have the media to rescue him at every point. You are so right about Obama’s privileged lifestyle prohibiting him from truly identifying with the black situation in our country. If he understood what is going on in the black communities across our nation, he would do something positive to begin helping the people in those communities understand what they truly need to do to begin saving lives and building their communities into productive cities.

I think Mike Huckabee said it well when he said that,Presidents can be either thermometers or thermostats, when they comment they can either gauge the temp.of the arguement and adopt to it or they can set the tone. This is not an exact qoute but close. This president is constantly acclimating to the room temp when he could be a leader and set the temp.We have not elected a leader we have elected a thermometer.
