Sir, we are not weak, if we make a proper use of the means which the God of nature hath placed in our power. Three millions of people, armed in the holy cause of liberty, and in such a country as that which we possess, are invincible by any force which our enemy can send against us.

Besides, sir, we shall not fight our battles alone. There is a just God who presides over the destinies of nations, and who will raise up friends to fight our battles for us.  The battle, sir, is not to the strong alone; it is to the vigilant, the active, the brave. Besides, sir, we have no election. If we were base enough to desire it, it is now too late to retire from the contest. There is no retreat, but in submission and slavery! Our chains are forged, their clanking may be heard on the plains of Boston! The war is inevitable – and let it come! I repeat it, sir, let it come!”

In 1775 George III declared Virginia to be in an “open state of rebellion” ordering troops to confiscate arms and ammunition. (1)redcoats1

Like today, the colonies were hemorrhaging. Up to that point, Virginia had not declared independence because some did not agree with the unrest taking place in Boston.

The question before them was whether or not Virginia would join with the rest of the colonies. On March 23, 1775 Patrick Henry gave his famous speech declaring “Americans were a unique people, with a different mindset built around liberty.” (2)

The speech, which many believe was also a prayer to God, moved delegates to vote for separation, catapulting the nation into a war lasting over eight years.

According to Catherine Mallard, when Marxists move into a country they change prominent dates in a nation’s history and replace them with something “new”, like the health care law.

On March 23, 2010 the president signed “the law” into effect over the objections of an overwhelmingly majority of Americans.

Which story do you think school kids will hear about in the years ahead? Henry’s speech or the illegal power grab by the government? You know the answer to that.

By the way, Henry and many other prominent men of that day refused to throw their support behind the new Constituion without a Bill of Rights because they feared it would result in a strong, central government.

Think they knew what they were takling about?
