A lot of Christian’s were stroking out over who the next president would be. Much fretting could have been averted if we only searched the scriptures for answers and to learn how to apply and pray over them.
A few weeks after the election I spoke to a pastor friend of mine and many of you reading this know him. He told me of how he struggled before the election, telling the Lord he didn’t know what to do.
Shortly after, he was reminded that God has run nations with the #2 man in charge. Joseph and Daniel came to mind. There was no question now who his choice would be.
He also told me of Clinton’s fatal mistake last summer when she made this statement about abortion: “Far too many women are still denied critical access to reproductive health care and safe childbirth. All the laws we’ve passed don’t count for much if they’re not enforced,” Clinton said, using the euphemism for abortion.
“Rights have to exist in practice — not just on paper,” Clinton argued. “Laws have to be backed up with resources and political will. And deep-seated cultural codes, religious beliefs and structural biases have to be changed.” (1)
She took on God and got her head handed to her. In Malachi 3:6 God say’s; “For I the LORD do not change.” For those of who who find the Old Testament too offensive, read Hebrews 13:8; “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.“
By telling us to change, she told God He had to change and she got the short end of the stick. My friend believes she’ll never hold another political office, but who knows. Word is she’s mounting a run for mayor of New York and anything can happen with the “banana pies” living there – unless of course, God trips her up again.
A few weeks before the election I stopped to fill up my car with gas. It was Sunday evening October 23, and after leaving the gas station with my lovley bride I was mulling over the possibility of a Hillary presidency.
As I drove down the road the bitterness subsided as the verse from Psalm 43:5 came to mind; “Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation and my God.”
A flood of peace came over me as I glanced at the clock inside my ride, noting it was 6:46 pm (EST).
I thought to myself, ‘I’m getting in on this one and taking God at His Word’. When I got home I wrote down the date, time and the verse – and I never looked back.
I’ll finish the story next time, telling you what I experienced on Election Day while on “bidness” in Baltimore.

Steve, I knew I had no choice but to vote Republican. When Trump picked Pence, I really felt God was giving us the advantage. Trump was not my choice, but with Pence and the Republican platform, I felt God was giving His approval for that vote.
